Description
Château Mauvinon 2016 is an iconic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru sulfur-free wine from our estate. Our wine is structured, full-bodied and intense.
Our wine is vinified without sulfites by the Tribaudeau family. Château Mauvinon 2016 is produced with minimal impact on the natural ecosystem. Grapes grown without the use of synthetic pesticides are harvested and sorted by hand, and infused in small containers.
Tasting :
– Nose: Persistent, with notes of black cherry and morello cherry dominating.
Mouth: The wine is complex and fleshy. The tannins are both firm and silky, with good length.
Grape varieties: 66% Merlot – 26% Cabernet Franc – 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. La vVinification is carried out in small containers to reflect the plot. Our wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, half of which are renewed each year.
Food and wine pairing: For this excellent vintage, pair it with a beef fillet and duck foie gras.
Our expertise:
Château Mauvinon 2017 is a Saint-Émilion sulfur-free wine in the first year of the estate’s conversion to organic farming. We used no synthetic pesticides in our vines. The harvest, from September 29 to October 8, 2017, was carried out by hand. Then, once harvested, we isolated each plot in vats, taking into account its unique specificities such as grape variety, soil, sun exposure and vine age. This meticulous care enables us to preserve the identity of each terroir, fully expressing the diversity and richness of the estate.
Commitment to the environment :
What’s more, we harvest, vinify and age Château Mauvinon without sulfur. This is because we are a family of winegrowers who want to make a difference. Our commitment isn’t just to create organic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wine without sulfur. It’s also, and above all, to do no harm to the natural ecosystem. We are exacting in our choice of cultivation methods (natural grassing and sowing, animal traction, biodynamics). Our planet deserves our commitment.
Local production and quality:
Wooden cases, labels, bottles, capsules and all Château Mauvinon production are “made in France”. Château Mauvinon is also available in the 2020 vintage and in magnum for the 2016.
