In 1962, Claude Tribaudeau acquired Château Mauvinon and created the emblematic label with two unicorns. He inherited his love of wine from his grandfather Gabriel Lauzat, and passed on his passion to his sons. For 20 years, he chaired the Union des Producteurs de Saint-Emilion, Gironde’s leading wine cooperative, helping to promote the Saint-Emilion appellation. When they took over the estate in 1990, Philippe and Brigitte Tribaudeau decided to make and market their own wine. In love with the family estate Philippe, a lawyer, resigned from the Bordeaux Bar in 1995 to devote himself exclusively to “Château Mauvinon”, while Brigitte, a graduate in Molecular Biology, contributes her skills and enthusiasm. Today, there’s no doubt that Mauvinon will live on, as their children, also passionate about oenology, work alongside them.
