Organic farming and sulfur-free wines

Brigitte Tribaudeau’s role is to care for, cultivate and pass on the land to future generations. Respecting and protecting the environment is her primary concern.

The family has been farming organically since 2017 and biodynamically. Today, Mauvinon has become a true biodiversity refuge, particularly for birds, whose observation is monitored throughout the year.

“Our vineyard is like our garden”.

In the vineyards, priority is given to biodiversity: the vines are grassed to encourage auxiliary fauna but also to protect the soil from erosion.

Biodynamic techniques are also used: herbal teas and decoctions strengthen the vines’ natural defenses, while sprays of horn dung and horn silica energize microbiological life.

Other tests are now underway: planting strawberries to limit weed growth, using broad beans to capture nitrogen from the air and return it to the plant, and planting radishes to aerate the soil.

Harvesting is 100% manual and meticulous.

Plot types are isolated in different vats (according to harvest date, grape variety, vine age, exposure, soil and slope).

A team of cheerful grape-pickers joins the family every year. A tradition close to the heart of Maison Tribaudeau.

The Tribaudeau’s aim is to infuse rather than extract to preserve the fruitiness naturally present in the grapes.

Vinification and ageing are sulfur-free.

The wines are the fruit of a precise blend of different batches, giving them great complexity.
