Description
Gabriel Lauzat 2016 is our estate’s iconic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. It is dense, juicy, full-bodied with hints of walnut, good concentration and beautiful intensity of fruit.
The Tribaudeau family vinifies this wine, in conversion to organic farming, without sulfites. We limit the impact on the natural ecosystem during the production of Gabriel Lauzat. We hand-pick and sort grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, then infuse them in small containers.
Tasting :
Nose: persistent, with notes of blackberry and blueberry
Mouth: full-bodied, with notes of figs and plums. The tannins are powerful and silky, offering a superb wine/barrel balance.
Grape varieties: 75% Merlot – 25% Cabernet Franc. Vinification in small containers reflects the parcel-based approach, and the wine is aged for 14 months in new barrels.
Food pairing: grilled lamb chops with rosemary.
Our expertise:
Gabriel lauzat is an organic Saint-Émilion sulfur-free wine. We use no synthetic pesticides in our vineyards. The grapes were harvested by hand. Then, once harvested, we isolated each parcel in vats, taking into account its unique specificities such as grape variety, soil, exposure to the sun and age of the vines. This meticulous care enables us to preserve the identity of each terroir, fully expressing the diversity and richness of the estate.
Commitment to the environment :
What’s more, we harvest, vinify and age Château Mauvinon without sulfur. This is because we are a family of winegrowers who want to make a difference. Our commitment isn’t just to create organic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wine without sulfur. It’s also, and above all, to do no harm to the natural ecosystem. We are exacting in our choice of cultivation methods (natural grassing and sowing, animal traction, biodynamics). Our planet deserves our commitment.
Local production and quality:
Wooden cases, labels, bottles, capsules and all Château Mauvinon production are “made in France”. Gabriel Lauzat is also available in the 2018 vintage.
